We are Alexander and Brian and we are the founders of Kokon Cape Town. We started this adventure from a passion to share the beauty of Cape Town with more people.
Our backgrounds are not in hospitality, but we are truly enjoying hosting people from all parts of the world and show them this amazing place.

Our story
After a few years of fantasizing about an adventure abroad, we made the decision to move to Cape Town. We know the city quite well after having come here for a few years for holidays, and we just love the lifestyle, the nature, and the people.
Our backgrounds are in marketing (Alex) and construction (Brian), but we have dabbled with hospitality a bit by managing airbnb rentals in Netherlands and Cape Town.
And now we can do this full time ;-)
Our vision for Kokon was to design a place that people feel at home and cocooned. We love that our guests stay with us and leave Kokon transformed, with new found energy and inspiration.
Moving to the other side of the world hasn't always been easy, and homesickness is a real thing, but we have really found our feet now and are enjoying life to the fullest now.
We hope that we can inspire people that have similar aspirations to start thinking in possibilities and taking the leap when possible!

Het Roer Om
We hebben meegedaan aan het TV programma 'het roer om' op SBS. Hierin volg je onze emigratie van Nederland naar Zuid-Afrika, en kun je zien hoe wij dit huis kochten zonder het gezien te hebben, en het in 4 maanden hebben gerenoveerd tot een guesthouse met de naam 'Kokon'. Het was een super mooi avontuur en bijzonder om mee te maken. De aflevering is vanaf 16 april te vinden op streamingdiensten
